The Joyce Awards support Midwest cultural institutions to commission works by artists of color. Four $50,000 grants will be awarded in the areas of Dance, Music, Theater, and Visual Arts. The deadline to submit a letter of inquiry is April 5, 2011. The Foundation will contact organizations selected for submitting a formal proposal in May 2011. Grants will be announced in January 2012.

Since 2004, the Joyce Awards has given $1.6 million to artists of color and cultural organizations in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, and St. Paul/Minneapolis.
